Russell Martin, Dodgers Break Franchise & MLB Records During Opening Series Vs. Diamondbacks

From Opening Day to the finale of the four-game set, the Los Angeles Dodgers made franchise and MLB history throughout their Opening Series with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It began with the Dodgers setting an MLB record by slugging eight home runs on Opening Day. Zack Greinke surrendered four to his former team in what was a 12-5 rout for L.A.

The following night, the teams played into the 13th inning, which ran six hours and five minutes at Dodger Stadium. That marked the Dodgers’ longest regular-season home game (by time) in franchise history.
