CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians scored five times in the first two innings against Rich Hill and the Dodgers never could catch up, losing 12-5 Thursday afternoon at Progressive Field.
The loss ended a six-game winning streak and was only the sixth in the past 21 games for the Dodgers.
The command issues and inconsistency that have plagued Hill all season followed him to the mound from the outset Thursday. He gave up three consecutive singles to start the game and then clipped Edwin Encarnacion with a pitch.
Later in the inning, Hill walked .147-hitting Roberto Perez with the bases loaded.
