Report: Dodgers trading Ruiz to Mariners

The Dodgers are trading veteran catcher Carlos Ruiz to the Mariners, according to a report from MLB Network insider Jon Heyman. MLB Network insider Joel Sherman reported Ruiz has waived his no-trade clause and the Dodgers are receiving a pitcher off Seattle's 40-man roster in return. Neither club has confirmed the report.

Ruiz, who will turn 38 in January, spent the first 10 1/2 seasons of his career with the Phillies -- a run that included a World Series title in 2008 and a second National League pennant the following year. He was traded to the Dodgers for catcher A.
