TORONTO – A few years ago, Chase Utley might have watched most of a game like Saturday’s from the visitor’s clubhouse at Rogers Centre, his blood pressure ticking steadily upwards.
“I don’t know the numbers,” the Dodgers’ veteran infielder said. “But I imagine now that replay is enforced there are probably fewer ejections.”
So when Utley tried to score from third base on a passed ball in the third inning and was called out by plate umpire James Hoye, Utley popped up expressionless, offered no complaint, secure in the knowledge that replay would set things right.
