Kenley Jansen was two strikes away from working his way out of bases-loaded no out jam. But then on the 0-1 pitch, Hunter Renfroe hit a walk-off grand slam to salvage the third game for the Padres.
The 8-5 win meant not just only one game lost in the standings but perhaps some sense that they held their own against the multi-year defending NL West champions.
Jansen was going for this third consecutive save but three straight singles, the last two coming on well placed bunts loaded the bases with not an out in sight.
