The Los Angeles Dodgers have been in one of their classic skids this week, losing the first three of a four-game series against the Miami Marlins, all in heartbreaking fashion.
They looked to change that and avoid the sweep in the series finale on Thursday afternoon, and they did exactly that with a 6-1 victory to end the road trip with a 5-3 record.
The game didn’t get off to a good start for the Dodgers as Jazz Chisholm led off the bottom of the first with a no-doubt home run off Julio Urias.
Urias’ pitch count started to rise early as his command was off, which wasn’t ideal considering the team needed length from him after a bullpen game on Wednesday and another scheduled for Friday.
