Pedro Guerrero, whose big bat powered many of the Dodgers’ best teams in the 1980s, remains hospitalized and on life support Tuesday in New York.
A source close to Guerrero’s family confirmed that the three-time All-Star suffered a stroke Monday.
A spokesperson for the Dodgers had no information about Guerrero’s condition Monday night.
Initial reports offered conflicting information about Guerrero’s current state, as well as where he was hospitalized.
Miami-based journalist Antonio Puesan reported Guerrero, 60, had died. Two other reports claimed Guerrero was alive but in failing health. ESPN’s Renato Bermudez reported Guerrero had suffered a heart attack, while ESPN’s Enrique Rojas reported Guerrero suffered a stroke.
