The baseball world lost a legend on Thursday with the passing of long-time MLB broadcaster and former big league catcher Tim McCarver. He was 81 years old.
McCarver was best known for his time calling games alongside Joe Buck on FOX Sports. However, he also called games with Joe’s father, Jack, and Hall of Famer Al Michaels. He covered numerous World Series and All-Star Games, and was also a regular on national baseball broadcasts like “The Game of the Week” and “Sunday Night Baseball.”
He was born on October 16, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, and put together a 21-year baseball playing career with the Cardinals, Phillies, Red Sox and Expos.
