All that we knew before the headlines yesterday was that there was an incident between Joc Pederson and Tommy Pham prior to the game between the Giants and Reds. The report later came out that there was a physical altercation between the two. While altercations are not uncommon in MLB, before the game is not common at all.
We later found out that Pham slapped Pederson on the field. That prompted MLB fans to wonder what the heck was going on. Pederson was approached in the clubhouse several times before the game but refused to speak with the media.
