The first two rounds of the MLB Draft are set for today. LA Live will host the event, with the first round beginning at 4PM PT. ESPN will be broadcasting the first two rounds.
Due to exceeding the competitive balance tax threshold, the Dodgers first-round draft pick was pushed ten spots back, from 30 to 40. LA will be making their first selection in the “competitive balance round A”.
ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel and FanGraphs Eric Longenhagen are split on who LA will be taking in the first-round of the MLB Draft. Last year, the Dodgers famously selected 14 pitchers with their first 14 picks, but this year, McDaniel predicts LA will draft middle infield prospect Eric Brown out of Coastal Carolina.
