ANAHEIM >> He arrived for his second stint in the majors during the Angels’ game Wednesday, Jett Bandy a backup catcher whose last name sounds ironically similar enough to Band-Aid.
Bandy was, in fact, just the latest Band-Aid applied to a roster hemorrhaging talent and everything else, the Angels having enough bodies on the disabled list to form an entirely separate starting nine, with two subs left for the bench.
“I’m just like anyone else in any other organization coming up to the big leagues,” Bandy explained Thursday, “trying to take advantage of an opportunity.”
Well, not exactly.
