Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke are the first pair of teammates to enter September having made at least 25 starts and owning an ERA below 2.25 since 1968. That season, two sets of teammates accomplished the feat, Jerry Koosman (1.91) and Tom Seaver (1.92) of the New York Mets, and Luis Tiant (1.59) and Sam McDowell (1.84) of the Indians. Kershaw’s ERA currently stands at 2.18 and Greinke’s at 1.59.
