Mets' Terry Collins calls Chase Utley play 'a late slide,' sidesteps question on potential player retaliation

NEW YORK -- The Mets traveled home overnight after Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers, collectively angry about the Chase Utley takeout slide that broke Ruben Tejada's leg and turned the momentum of the second game of this National League Division Series.

The Dodgers were due to arrive Sunday, having departed Los Angeles in the morning. Manager Don Mattingly and Game 3 starter Brett Anderson will conduct news conferences.

Mets manager Terry Collins emerged for a scheduled news conference at Citi Field wearing a polo shirt and jeans. In the same vehement manner with which he did Saturday night in Los Angeles, he continued speaking about the contentious slide.
