The dust has barely settled from Sunday night’s historical announcement of Juan Soto to the New York Mets for 15 years and $765 million.
Hours later, the Mets are reportedly checking in on two of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ free agents.
According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic, if the Mets don’t re-sign Sean Manaea, the possible alternatives include right-handers Jack Flaherty and Walker Buehler.
In 2024, Jack Flaherty posted a 13-7 record with a 3.17 ERA, spending the season with both the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Dodgers. According to Rosenthal and Sammon, he is seeking a multi-year contract.
