Although the Los Angeles Dodgers saw Max Muncy, Gavin Lux, Justin Turner, Mookie Betts and Chris Taylor advance to Phase 2 of voting this week, neither were selected as a starter for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game.
Muncy lost out to Freddie Freeman at first base, Turner was edged out by Nolan Arenado at third base, and Lux finished third behind Adam Frazier and Ozzie Albies at second base. Mookie Betts and Chris Taylor additionally placed fourth and fifth, respectively, among National League outfielders.
As a result, the Dodgers won’t have a starter in the All-Star Game for the first time since 2017.
