Matchups prompt Dodgers to shuffle rotation

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers swapped starting pitchers for the first two games of this weekend series against the Padres, having Ross Stripling start Friday night, with Rich Hill slated for Saturday night.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the change was partly motivated by matchups that would avoid having Hill pitch against Arizona next week. Hill is 0-2 with a 9.64 ERA against the D-backs this season.

"It just gives Rich an extra day," said Roberts. "There's a little matchup component. It's Arizona, but the more important thing is Rich has pitched a lot and we feel good about getting Ross into a five-day schedule.
