The Los Angeles Dodgers officially unveiled their gold series jersey and cap, which will be worn the weekend of April 9-11, when they face the Washington Nationals. The three-game set marks the Dodgers’ first series at Dodger Stadium since winning the World Series.
As defending champions, they were previously reported as being expected to participate in MLB’s gold program. It has become commonplace for the reigning World Series champion to don a gold-trimmed cap and jersey for Opening Day or home opener, and in some cases multiple games.
The New York Yankees were the last team to not wear a hat or jersey with the gold design when they opened the 2010 season as defending champions.
