Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Kershaw’s Challenge Breaking Ground On Dreamfields Project In Honor Of Jackie Robinson

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, in partnership with Kershaw’s Challenge and the City of Compton, will host a groundbreaking ceremony at Gonzales Park to kick off construction of its largest Dodgers Dreamfields project to date.

Actor Anthony Anderson will serve as emcee of the event, and Clayton Kershaw, Compton Mayor Aja Brown and Ayo Robinson will join to celebrate the legacy of her grandfather, Jackie Robinson. The project, which was unveiled during Jackie Robinson Day ceremonies at Dodger Stadium last year, will commemorate the 100th birthday of the MLB icon.

“Jackie Robinson Day is always a special day in Los Angeles, and it’s hard to think of a better way to honor his legacy and celebrate his centennial birthday than by increasing access to youth baseball and softball in Compton,” Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation CEO Nichol Whiteman said at the time of announcing the renovation.
