MILWAUKEE -- Joe Wieland is today's new face in the Dodgers' clubhouse.
Wieland will be officially promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City following the game tonight and start Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Wednesday's scheduled starter, Carlos Frias, will get an extra day's rest and start the series finale at Miller Park on Thursday.
Acquired as part of the December trade with the San Diego Padres that sent Matt Kemp south and brought Yasmani Grandal to Los Angeles, the 25-year-old Wieland was 3-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in four starts for the OKC Dodgers, striking out 22 and walking only two batters in 20 innings.
