LOS ANGELES -- Journeyman left-hander David Huff was designated for assignment following his spot start for the Dodgers Tuesday night, the first in a series of moves involving pitchers today.
Huff went four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits in a game the Dodgers eventually won 6-5. If he clears waivers, he could reject an assignment to the minor leagues and become a free agent instead.
Taking his place on the Dodgers' 40-man roster is left-hander Ryan Dennick who was claimed on waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. Dennick, 28, is a reliever who made eight appearances for the Reds last season and started this season at Triple-A Louisville.
