Lasorda takes in game 11 days post-surgery

LOS ANGELES -- Eleven days after having surgery to install a new pacemaker in his heart, Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda attended the series opener between the Dodgers and the Nationals at Dodger Stadium on Monday.

Lasorda, 89, was released from the hospital on May 28.

Lasorda led the Dodgers to two World Series championships, four NL pennants and won 1,599 games in 21 seasons as manager. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.

Lasorda, in his 68th season with the organization, now works as a special advisor to the chairman and has spent time as senior vice president and interim general manager.
