L.A. thrown for another loss in St. Louis, beaten by Cardinals 3-1

ST. LOUIS >> At this rate, the Dodgers’ lasting memory of St. Louis will not be their past playoff failures, their lackluster hitting, or even a pack of Clydesdales trotting to the sound of beer jingles. They will remember the umpires.

When Justin Turner argued a called third strike that ended the Dodgers’ 3-1 loss to the Cardinals, home plate umpire Marty Foster ejected him. Since the game had just ended, this might be a matter of semantics, but Turner joined catcher A.J. Ellis and manager Don Mattingly on the list of ejected Dodgers in the series.

Ellis and Turner have played 914 games between them and never been ejected before this weekend.
