LA Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal on the right track since returning from disabled list

DENVER >> After all that Yasmani Grandal has been through in a short time this season, maybe only Coors Field and left-handed pitching can slow him down.

It’s the latest proof that baseball can be a strange game.

Grandal, a switch-hitter, hasn’t faced a left-hander through his first seven games of the season, though not by design. Last year manager Don Mattingly preferred Grandal against right-handed opponents. He faced righties six times as often as lefties and hit them almost 90 points higher (a .308 average compared to .221).

The opposite has been true this season.
