LA Dodgers beat Mets thanks to long, controversial seventh inning

In the first inning of Game 1 of the 2013 National League championship series, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Joe Kelly hit Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez with a 95-mph fastball, fracturing Ramirez’s rib. Ramirez wasn’t the same from then on. The series had turned before it could even open its eyes and inhale its first breath.

The seventh inning of the Dodgers’ 5-2 win over the New York Mets in Game 2 of the National League Division Series had a similar feel.
