LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers placed utility man Kiké Hernandez on the disabled list on Wednesday with left rib cage inflammation, making room on the active roster for Brock Stewart, starting Wednesday night against the Brewers at Miller Park.
The DL move for Hernandez is retroactive to Tuesday, though it doesn't really matter since either day takes him through the All-Star break. Hernandez has struggled mightily this season, hitting .189/.280/.346 in 65 games, though he walked in all three plate appearances batting leadoff on Monday.
