It was a quick two-game series against the Padres, and nobody was more impressive than Kenta Maeda.
First, lets get to the pitching side of things. He was flat-out dominant. On the night, Maeda struck out 12, the highest number of strikeouts by a Dodgers pitcher this season. For Maeda, it’s the first time he’s struck out 12 since May 23 of last season. It was one short of his career high.
The strikeouts were working for him early on, as he struck out six of the first 10 batters he faced, including a stretch of six in a row.
