LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen struck out one and allowed a hit in his scoreless inning in the first game of his minor league rehabilitation assignment with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday night.
Jansen, who had surgery to remove a bone growth on the fifth metatarsal of his left foot on Feb. 17, started Friday night's game against the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels) and pitched the first inning.
Bo Way singled to center field to open the frame against Jansen, then stole second base. Kaleb Cowart struck out, then Eric Aguilera lined into a double play, with center fielder Robbie Garvey catching a line drive then doubling off Way at second base.
