“My time will come when it’s right,” Joc Pederson says of the possibility of returning to an everyday role. “I don’t get to choose when it’s right. I show up with a positive mind ready to show what I can do.”
“Last year I had the best year that I’ve had,” he said, “and I had some pretty gnarly situations.”
He recalled opposing players approaching him with a perplexed look during batting practice. He’d just homered the night before, they would say. Why wasn’t he in today’s lineup?
“That’s how they see it,” he said.
