On Tuesday the Dodgers farm system was littered with outstanding pitching performances.
Player of the day
Joe Wieland allowed just six hits and no walks in seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday night, with seven strikeouts. It has been a rough year for Wieland, who has a 4.90 ERA after the win, but after failing to last past five innings in any of his first 16 starts this season, including one major league start, he has pitched seven innings in two of his last three outings.
Wieland's seven strikeouts on Tuesday were his most since fanning nine in his first start of the year.
