Jair Jurrjens suspended 80 games for positive PED test

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers pitcher Jair Jurrjens will miss the rest of the season, suspended on Thursday for 80 games for testing positive for exogenous testosterone, a performance-enhancing drug.

Jurrjens was signed to a minor league deal on March 29, and the 31-year-old had a 4.64 ERA in 11 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, including 10 starts, with 44 strikeouts and 18 walks in 54 innings.

He last pitched on June 7, allowing four runs in just two innings against Iowa. Jurrjens had a 3.25 ERA in his first eight starts for OKC, but over his last three outings allowed 14 runs on 19 hits in 10 innings, with as many walks (six) as strikeouts.
