Jacob Scavuzzo out 6-8 weeks after elbow surgery

LOS ANGELES — Dodgers minor league outfielder Jacob Scavuzzo is expected to be out six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery this week to remove a bone spur from his left elbow.

Scavuzzo hit .266/.318/.397 with 21 doubles and 10 home runs in 112 games for Double-A Tulsa in 2016. He played through the pain during the season, and said it felt especially bad in June, when Scavuzzo hit .220/.268/.319, though got better as the season went on.

“Then off-season came around and I didn't feel it [while] training but as soon as I started doing baseball activities it flared up again,” Scavuzzo said.
