When the Dodgers traded Dee Gordon and ended up flipping Heaney for Howie Kendrick, I knew that they acquired one of the best second-basemen in baseball. He’s not a leadoff guy like Dee, but he is a solid professional hitter who plays within himself and hits the ball where it is pitched for the most part. Based upon a 162 game season, Kendrick’s average season looks like this:
- .293 BA
- .333 OB%
- .759 OPS
- 12 HR
- 75 RBI
- 37 Doubles
- 4 Triples
That may not be the guy you want at cleanup, but he’s really solid at #5 or #6.
