Dodgers pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu will take an important step in his recovery from shoulder surgery on Sunday, when he starts his first minor league rehab game for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Ryu is scheduled to pitch two innings on Sunday afternoon for the Quakes, who are in San Bernardino to play Inland Empire. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Saturday that Ryu would need four or five rehab starts to build up his arm strength and pitch count, per Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.
