Hyun-Jin Ryu goes three innings, allows three runs in second rehab start

Dodgers pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu allowed two home runs in three innings Friday in his second rehab start for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.

The left-hander allowed only one other hit, a single, against the San Jose Giants at LoanMart Field. He walked none and struck out one batter while throwing 44 pitches -- 34 for strikes.

In his initial rehab game Sunday, Ryu estimated his effort at "60 to 70 percent." His fastball averaged around 87 mph in that game, and it sat 87 again Friday.

While Ryu allowed home runs to a pair of young prospects, Chris Shaw and Ronnie Jebavy, he finished his outing by getting rehabbing Giants catcher Andrew Susac to ground into a double play.
