The director of player development for the Los Angeles Dodgers stood outside the team’s batting cages at it’s spring training facility in Glendale, Arizona, Tuesday morning offering some advice to all the kids who go to bed at night and dream of being the next Corey Seager or Clayton Kershaw.
“Never stop dreaming,” said Gabe Kapler, who went from being the smallest kid on his Reseda Little League team to playing 12 seasons in the major leagues.
“Dream, but at the same time build yourself holistically as a human being and don’t focus solely on just becoming the best baseball player you can.
