Guerrero set to begin rehab assignment

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers third baseman/left fielder Alex Guerrero, on the disabled list with a left knee injury, will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday with Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga, his first time back in game action since Spring Training.

Since beginning the season on the DL, Guerrero has remained in Arizona to rehab his knee. He will start at third base and hit fourth for the Quakes.

"We'll see how he responds with his health," manager Dave Roberts said. "He's got to get hits, and he's also got to stay healthy."

The start of Guerrero's assignment means the team will soon have to figure out how to fit him into the 25-man roster.
