The San Francisco Giants signed Cavan Biggio to a minor league deal on Friday. The utility player was recently released by the Los Angeles Dodgers when first baseman Freddie Freeman returned from the injured list.
Biggio will report to the Giants Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento.
Biggio started 13 games at third base and eight games at first base for Los Angeles. The 29-year-old slashed .192/.306/.329 in 30 games for the Dodgers. He spent roughly two months in Los Angeles.
Biggio played a total of 74 games this season, split between the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
