The Giants continued adding to their collection of former Los Angeles Dodgers this morning with the addition of infielder/outfielder/pinch hitter Matt Beaty. He was acquired from the Kansas City Royals for cash considerations.
MLB insider Bob Nightengale was among those to report the news.
Beaty signed a minor league deal with the Royals this past offseason but KC had no spot for him to play on the field. With the Giants, he may have a path to some playing time following the departure of long time first baseman Brandon Belt, who signed with the Blue Jays in the offseason.
