The Major League Baseball and the Players Association, in conjunction with Sony Entertainment, announced the creation of an MLB The Show Players League on Friday, an effort aimed at raising money for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada, according to multiple reports.
Each Major League team will have one representative to participate in a round-robin tournament in which real-life Major Leaguers compete against representatives of each team at least once throughout April. After the 29 “regular season” games are completed, the top eight teams will advance to the postseason.
