In any event, Rubby will rub down a baseball and take on Carlos Frias, who will try to make his case for replacing Brandon McCarthy in the rotation, who has been moved to the 1,492-day DL.
This is only the third big league start for Frias. In his debut start last season, he threw six scoreless innings against the Nats.
