The Los Angeles Dodgers again jumped out to an early lead over the L.A. Angels and rode that to an 8-2 victory in the rubber match of the Freeway Series at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers finished 3-2 on their homestand and now embark on a six-game road trip.
Trea Turner continued to be a spark from the leadoff spot of the Dodgers’ lineup, starting the bottom of the first inning with a double. Max Muncy then beat the shift with an RBI single to give L.A. a 1-0 lead.
AJ Pollock followed that with a double, and Justin Turner reached on a fielder’s choice that scored Muncy because José Iglesias’ throw to home plate was high.
