Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman will play for Game 3 of the National League Division Series Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres.
Freeman was listed as day-to-day after their Game 2 loss. He exited Game 2 after experiencing discomfort in his sprained right ankle and was replaced at first base by Max Muncy and Kiké Hernández entered at third.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Monday that Freeman was “still sore” when the Dodgers were working out at Petco Park prior to Game 3.
“He’s getting treatment. Don’t know anything else. Outside of that I think he’s very grateful for a mental break today.
