Dodgers outfielder Franklin Gutierrez left Monday’s game against the Cubs in the second inning with a left hamstring injury, per Buster Olney on the ESPN broadcast.
Gutierrez walked against Jon Lester in the top of the second inning, then was thrown out trying to steal second base on a pitch that struck out Yasiel Puig swinging. Given how Gutierrez peeked back toward home plate while running to second, it appeared to be more of a hit-and-run than a straight steal, but the result was he was out, then out of the game.
