Former Edison High star David Huff happy to play for the USA at Pan Am Games

U.S. pitcher David Huff, right, shown shaking hands with catcher Eric Fryer, is shooting for a gold medal at the Pan Am Games and another chance at the major leagues with the Dodgers.

David Huff was raised on the baseball fields in Huntington Beach, starred at Edison High and played at UC Irvine and Cypress College before finishing his collegiate career at UCLA. Despite his success at each level, wearing the red, white and blue of the national team had eluded him for more than half his life.

Huff tried out for teams in the past, but said he “was never good enough for them.
