The Philadelphia Phillies announced Wednesday that former Dodgers outfielder David Dahl has cleared waivers and elected free agency.
Dahl was designated for assignment on Monday when the Phillies announced the return of Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper from the injured list.
Dahl hit well in three months with the Dodgers organization, slashing .282/.354/.493 in 54 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City. He signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers last June and became a free agent at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old was on pace for a remarkable comeback story when his contract was selected on June 3 from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
