Former Dodgers Catcher, Outfielder Among Managerial Candidates for White Sox: Report

The Chicago White Sox are reportedly considering both a former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher and outfielder for their vacant managerial job.

A.J. Ellis was known to Dodgers fans as Clayton Kershaw’s preferred catcher during his nine year run in Los Angeles.

Ellis’ playing career ended in 2018 as a member of the San Diego Padres and he has not left the National League West rivals since.

The Padres added Ellis to their baseball operations staff in 2019. While his exact role is hard to define, he has made quite an impact on some of the younger players in the organization.
