Austin Wynns, a journeyman MLB catcher who had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023, has been designated for assignment by the Cincinnati Reds.
He was DFA’d on Sunday without playing a game at the MLB level this season.
Wynns, 33, was drafted in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. The San Diego native debuted with Baltimore in 2018, and played parts of three seasons with the Orioles through 2021. Then, he spent the 2022 season with the San Francisco Giants, before bouncing around the National League West in 2023.
