PITTSBURGH – Spot starter Nick Tepesch gave up four runs in the second inning and the Dodgers never caught up, losing 8-6 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night at PNC Park.
The loss snapped the Dodgers’ six-game win streak.
Tepesch was tabbed to fill the fifth spot in the Dodgers’ rotation (vacated when Mike Bolsinger was demoted to Triple-A earlier this week) and made his first big-league start since Sept. 2014 with the Texas Rangers. It did not go well.
The Pirates reached Tepesch for five runs in four innings with most of the damage coming in the second inning.
