Final: Dodgers late rally falls short in 6-5 loss to Diamondbacks

PHOENIX – Left-hander Robbie Ray held the Dodgers scoreless for seven innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks hung on to beat the Dodgers, 6-5, Sunday afternoon at Chase Field.

After scoring 12 runs in the first six innings Friday night, the Dodgers managed only two runs over the next 22 innings (a stretch that included Saturday's 12-inning loss) as the Diamondbacks took the series. Over the final 24 innings of weekend series, the Dodgers left 28 runners on base and went 5 for 30 with runners in scoring position.

They came up empty on their best scoring opportunities early against Ray.
