LOS ANGELES — The first pitch Brett Anderson threw Tuesday night was lined right back at his head. He ducked out of the way in time while the ball off Billy Burns’ bat seared through the middle of the infield, as if an omen of what was to come.
It was not, really. Anderson pitched in control for most of the rest of his night. But Burns’ single was enough to lose the Dodgers the game, as he came around to score the decisive run in a 2-0 Oakland A's victory at Dodger Stadium.
Sonny Gray dominated the Dodgers in a complete-game effort, striking out nine, allowing three hits and walking just one.
